NORTH SAANICH PARKS MASTER PLAN:

The Dean Park Estates Community Association has been asked by the District of North Saanich to assist with creating a Parks Master Plan for the municipality.

We know that many DPE residents utilize the parks and beaches in North Saanich extensively.

First, we are very fortunate that the District of North Saanich is home to 29 local parks and 34 km of trails.     There is a wealth of information on the parks on the District of North Saanich website, including a helpful Guide to Parks and Trails booklet. https://northsaanich.ca/wp-content/uploads/Parks-and-Trails-Booklet.pdf

  • What are the strengths of the parks and trails system in North Saanich? What are the challenges?
  • ·  What are your observations of the current park amenities and park activities? Are they sufficient? What is missing or lacking?
  • ·  What are your observations of the beach accesses and viewpoints? What is working well and what could be improved?

Please use the Contact Us form on the DPECA website to provide your input so that we can represent your views and take part in creating the DNS Parks Master Plan.

You can also complete the Parks Master Plan Community Survey on the District of North Saanich website.

Open House

The District of North Saanich  has planned an upcoming Open House to discuss North Saanich parks, trails and beach accesses. North Saanich staff and our project team will be on hand to speak to you and answer any questions:

  • Tuesday, November 21, 2023, 3-8pm (drop-in)
  • North Saanich Municipal Hall, 1620 Mills Road.

Prior to attending, we encourage you to read the State of the Parks Report. The State of the Parks Report provides a comprehensive overview of the current condition of parks and trails with the District of North Saanich. It offers insight’s into the Districts natural assets, demographics, and environmental considerations that collectively shape the management and planning of its outdoor recreation spaces.

Community Pop-ups

We will be present in the community to help inform the public, advertise our Open House, and be available to discuss aspects of the project. We will be providing community pop-ups at the following locations and times:
